Parent info

The Savage Fastpitch Player/Parent Agreement: what we expect from players and families. Each player and parent signs it with the club.

Attendance

Every effort should be made to attend team events, practices and tournaments. If a player can't make it, let your team's head coach know promptly.

If a vacation, camp or other major event is planned during the season, make sure the head coach knows ahead of time.

Absences

If a player has to miss practice, a parent must call or text the head coach.

A player who missed practice shouldn't expect to start the next game, though she may; that's the head coach's decision. Multiple absences without telling the coach are grounds for suspension from the team.

Injuries & insurance

If a player is injured or sick, let the head coach know promptly.

Parents must keep medical, health, dental and accident insurance for their player. Savage Fastpitch carries insurance through “ACORD”, which is secondary to your own.

Uniforms & equipment

Parents and players are responsible for having the uniforms and equipment needed to play, and for keeping uniforms clean. These are uniform violations:

  • Untucked jersey
  • Dirty uniform at a tournament (stains, blood, makeup, etc.)
  • Wrong uniform
  • Hair not put up (ponytail, braids, etc.)
  • Missing the proper equipment

Each violation counts toward:

  1. First time: a warning
  2. Second: won't start the next game
  3. Third: won't play the next tournament
  4. Fourth: suspension from the team

Parents, family & friends

Practices and games aren't a time for players to visit with friends or family. When needed, the head coach can hold closed practices.

Please don't coach from outside the field of play, and be respectful toward everyone: coaches, players, parents, directors and umpires. Losing your composure after a warning will result in dismissal from the team.

Dugout

Only players, coaches, officials and medical staff are allowed in the dugout. Players don't leave the dugout during games unless there's an emergency, so make sure your player has what she needs before the game starts.

Conduct

Good sportsmanship and professional behavior are expected at all times. Disrespectful or disruptive behavior won't be tolerated.

Photos & names

Player photos and names may appear on the Savage Fastpitch website and on team social media. On the website, 10U–12U rosters show a first name and last initial only.

Parents can opt out on the Player/Parent Agreement when they sign it to join a team.

Fees

  • Team fee: set by each team, once per season. It covers balls, cage and field rentals, registration and insurance.
  • Uniforms: ordered from the team store.
  • Tournament fees: split equally between the players.

For your team's costs, ask your team's head coach.
